How We Charge

How does the $65 off my first service offer work?

The $65 off your first service offer applies once, for new customers on their first booking with us. We take it off what you owe at the end of that first job, on top of the $0 call-out fee already covering the visit.

Is the call-out really free?

Yes. The $0 Call Out Fee means a licensed plumber comes out, has a look and gives you an honest diagnosis, and none of that costs you anything upfront. You only pay once a price is agreed and you say go ahead.

Can I get a written quote before you start?

Yes, always. The plumber agrees a fair, upfront price with you in writing once they've assessed the job, before any work starts. That price holds unless something changes once the wall's opened or the pipe's exposed, and even then we stop and talk you through it first.

What happens if the job turns out bigger than quoted?

If the job turns out bigger once we're into it, we stop and explain exactly what's changed and why. You get a new price for the extra work before anything more happens, and nothing proceeds until you say yes.

Credentials and Compliance

Is my property covered while you're working?

Yes. We're licensed and insured for both plumbing and gas work, so you're covered for the time we're in your Lilyfield home working on it. That's standard on every callout, not an extra you need to ask for or pay more to get.

What happens if a repair fails after you've left?

If something we've fixed fails again, that's on us, not you. Quality Workmanship Guaranteed means we come back and put it right, and we don't ask you to pay twice for the same job to be done properly.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully. NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C covers the plumbing side, and gas work is carried out by appropriately licensed tradespeople on the same team. You can ask to see the licence on the day, and we're always happy to show it before we start.

Can I check your licence myself?

Yes. Our licence number is #292427C, and you can look up any NSW plumbing licence through NSW Fair Trading's public register before you book if that gives you peace of mind. We'd rather you check and feel confident than just take our word for it.

Booking a Callout

Can I call you for advice even if I'm not booking a job?

Yes, that's fine. Call (02) 9138 6504 and ask whatever's on your mind, whether it's what to do about a leak right now or just whether something's worth a callout at all. A real person answers, not a call centre, and they'll give you a straight answer either way.

How do you decide which emergency call gets priority?

Genuine emergencies come first, burst pipes, flooding or a suspected gas leak. If anyone in the house is very young, elderly or medically vulnerable, tell us when you call, since that also affects how quickly we get to you. Everything else still gets a same-day slot, just behind the true emergencies.

Does the callback form actually work?

Yes. If you'd rather not call, fill in the form and we call you back fast, day or night, once someone's free to talk it through properly. It's not a black hole, a real person follows up every submission.

What information do you need when I call?

Just the basics: your address, what's happening (a burst pipe, no hot water, a blocked drain) and whether anyone's at risk, like a gas smell. That's enough for us to work out urgency and get the right plumber moving, and anything else can wait until they're on site.

Questions Specific to Lilyfield

Why do older homes in Lilyfield have more plumbing emergencies?

A lot of it comes down to age. Pre-1940 workers' cottages and terraces here were plumbed with earthenware drains and galvanised steel water pipes that are well past their working life. Add renovation-era hot water units now reaching the end of their run, and older homes end up with more failure points than a newer build.

Does Lilyfield's soil affect underground pipes?

Yes. The ground here is a mix of reactive clay, shale and alluvial soil, and reactive clay especially shifts as it wets and dries. That movement can crack or dislodge older earthenware pipes underground, part of why collapsed or shifted drain lines turn up more often on older properties.

Do Lilyfield's older terraces still have galvanised supply pipes?

Many of them do. Federation and Victorian-era terraces in Lilyfield were originally fitted with galvanised steel supply pipes, and plenty haven't been fully replaced even through later renovations. Corrosion inside those pipes cuts water pressure and can discolour the water, and it's a common reason we're called to older homes for a burst or a leak.

Do apartments in Lilyfield have different plumbing issues to houses?

A bit, yes. Newer infill apartments near the light rail generally run on modern shared systems, so hot water and stack issues tend to affect a whole building rather than one home. Older houses and terraces, the kind you'll see near War Memorial Park and through the back streets, are more likely to have old-house problems instead, ageing pipes, root intrusion and blockages from mature street trees during wetter months.
